After we had a great snack time, the kids showed off their Valentine songs. Adorable!!! Then they played a game. There was a paper "V" in the middle of the floor. For the game, the teacher would call on a child, who would say a "V" word, and then the whole class would walk around in a circle, singing a catchy-tune and using the chosen word. For example, the class pretended to drive their "VANS" around the circle while singing the song. After Van, Valentine and Volcano the kids were having a hard time coming up with more V words. Luke put his hand high in the air and the teacher called on him. He thought for a minute and then (very loudly) said "VAMPIRE."
I have to say that the teacher looked a little stunned....as did some of the parents. I started to giggle, because of all things...our kid (a pastor's kid) chose VAMPIRE! That's just hilarious! So, the whole class pretended to be VAMPIRES...which looked like they were just tip-toeing around...because obviously, none of the kids knew what to do.
This afternoon I asked Luke what a vampire is? He said, "it's when you wear a black cape and have funny cherry teeth." That clued me in that he was recalling an episode of Max and Ruby...possibly the two cutest bunnies in the world. They are usually just selling lemonade on their show, but in the Halloween episode, Max is a "vampire bunny."
Luke has a long memory that will serve him well in life! If nothing else, he'll keep the teachers on their toes and all of the other parent's wondering! And us, laughing the whole time!
