We did the Puyallup today! A perfect day for the Fair. The weather was excellent and it wasn't crowded...at all. How can that be??? We went with Ross and Shannon and their kids, and Aunti Saza. Unfortunately, in wrangling our 3 kids, I didn't get a group shot. Bummer.
Another bummer of the day was that we didn't make it to the 4H Cat Barn. Who goes to the fair and doesn't stop by the cat barn? Okay, so I'm kidding, but I do think it's one of the most hilarious parts of the fair...I mean really there are enormous draft horses in the barn next door, and hundreds of beautiful cows, sheep, goats, etc. We even enjoy looking at the blue ribbon chickens and rabbits. BUT, the show cats...how do you pass up seeing the prize feline, Prince Whisker-Pants, in all of his glory at the fair??? This is a mystery that will never be solved! Mark my words...I will buy a farm and raise horses so my kids can show them in 4H, long before the Stewarts will ever enter a cat in the fair!
We had a lot of fun. We saw the animals (my favorite part), had a delicious lunch at the YL bbq booth, and of course let the kids ride 2 rides each (their favorite part).

Forget the rides, Peter would like a tractor. |
Luke wanted to do a "bigger kid" ride. He looks a little worried. |
No worries now, just pure JOY! I love this picture. |
Natalie and Emmett were driving. They went zooming by and I could not get
both of their faces. They were ADORABLE. |
No surprise here...Peter chose the motorcycles! |
Peter was trying to figure out the miniature horses. |
Natalie and Emmett were going to steal it! |
What can I say, she takes after her momma and loves, and I mean LOVES, ice cream! |
Today is September 11th. Which makes us remember 9 years ago. It also makes me remember ONE year ago. Because it was Sept. 11, 2009 that I was driving up from Portland to meet Luke, just as he was out of surgery around 11pm after he had a compound fracture of his arm.
Click here for the story. I'm so glad we were at the fair this year, having a great day, instead of hanging out at Mary Bridge Children's hospital. And, I'm so glad that one year later, our crazy, fun 6 year old is healthy and whole. Thank you, Lord! We are blessed beyond imagination!

Oh good Lord, a show cat? Seriously. The Kiehls are more apt to enter a "show dust-bunny". Glad you had fun!
