Snow!

Aaron headed off for 2 weeks at school.  The first week flew by.  We were busy with dance and basketball for both boys, school, and all of our normal routines.  But, everything came to a screeching hault on Sunday morning when we woke up to 1-2 inches of snow.  We headed out to enjoy it and had a great time playing until we were frozen!

The forecasters kept saying that the real storm was still coming.  I was skeptical.  But, for once, they were RIGHT!  On Tuesday night we got more than 8 inches of fresh, gorgeous powder.  We played and played and played some more.  The kids were out of school for the entire week.   Unfortunately, after the snow, came the ice...thick ice..that turned Western Washington into a skate rink.  Roads were treacherous and trees were breaking under the weight of the ice.

Overall, it was a great week.  Sure, eight days of being mostly home-bound, with four kids is challenging (that may be an understatement.)  But, we made it!  And we made a lot of memories too!

Luke made this big snowman...a great job!  He looked even better when Luke gave him a rounder head, better eyes, and a scarf...I forgot to get an "after" shot! Oops.

Here's Natalie's snowman.  She was VERY proud.

Benjamin wanted in on the action.

So, he came out for a little bit. (We mostly played when he was napping.)

There were neighborhood snowball fights.

And "sledding" on any incline they could find.

Getting mom to pull the sled...

And then the REAL snow came!

And friends came to play!  SuLee jumped in to help the kids build a snow fort.

McKenna (and Kennedy) and I...supervised the fort building.

And Lily took a break...sitting on Peter.  What a gentleman!  (for the record, this is probably right after he shoved a snowball in her face and she's getting him back. )
