Pumpkin Patch...take 1

For a variety of reasons, we go to the pumpkin patch a lot this time of year. With family, preschool, friends, etc. and it's always a lot of fun.

Today the weather was beautiful and we decided to head out to one of our favorite farms for a family day. It was almost hot. We could have all been there in t-shirts and flip-flops. Which is funny, because I have pictures from the last few years and we are bundled up in hats and fleece coats.

We had a wonderful time picking out our treasures. We have a strict Stewart-family rule that says you can pick any pumpkin that you can carry and put in the wheelbarrow by yourself. It's hilarious watching children trying to lift their own body weight in pumpkin. Luke was extremely distraught today, and of course we gave him a little help since he does have cast on one arm. But, we still made him show us that he could pick it up and made him carry it most of the way. We know we're mean, but hey, do the kids want us to pay for enormous pumpkins or college savings?

Here are some fun pictures from today. Pace yourself...our next several posts are likely to be more pumpkin patch outings.

There's always one. This picture had huge potential to be adorable...but SOMEONE was not happy about it.

There we go...those are the smiles we were hoping for...

Grab a ride on daddy's shoulders instead.

Our sweet Pete taking a rest.

Adorable pumpkins...

How big am I???

Luke found the PERFECT pumpkin! And, he's sporting his new blue cast.

Natalie had a great time exploring the pumpkin patch

Checking out the gigantic spider

The cow bench was Peter's favorite part of the whole farm

Success...all three together and looking forward!
